Steinway introduced its 5’ 1” Model “S” in 1936 to answer a demand from pianists for a small grand that could fit into most rooms.  It was built to the same standards as all their larger grands, but on a much smaller scale.  Despite its size, it is a beloved model for those who desired the ‘Steinway sound’ but were limited by cost and space.

As you can see from the photos, this “S” has been rebuilt in its recent past.  It’s in very good condition and will give an aspiring pianist who has always wanted a Steinway baby grand the chance to purchase one at a fraction of the cost of new.
