Young Chang U121 Designer Mahogany Upright

The mechanics of the U-121 are no doubt modeled on Yamaha’s venerable U1 upright.  The pianos from this period came from the factory in S. Korea which many consider superior to the Indonesian and Chinese instruments that came later.

The U-121 was intended for both home and light institutional use.  At 48” tall, it has a much broader dynamic range than a typical console and would be a good choice for a budget-minded player wanting a larger vertical piano.

This piano has a lovely dark mahogany decorator cabinet; it would not be chosen by a school or institution.
