Wurlitzer C173 Music Room Grand

Wurlitzer was a household name for years in North America; their pianos were found in thousands of homes throughout the country.  Primarily built in western New York, near Buffalo, they were reliable, affordable instruments.

Like most American builders, they experienced ownership changes as competitors from around the world began making inroads into the North American market.  For a brief period, they were owned by Baldwin who contributed scale designs but had the pianos manufactured for them in S. Korea — first by Young Chang, then by Samick.

This C173 was built by Samick to Baldwin’s specific scale design.  It’s been maintained in very good condition and is an exceptional value at this sale price.  It is an excellent choice for a budget-minded pianist seeking the touch and tonal benefits of playing a larger grand piano.

It’s difficult to find exact manufacturing dates for these pianos but we estimate it was built around 1996-2001.
