Join us for a memorable concert featuring piano, bass, and cello — and the incredible life story behind the music
Join us for an unforgettable evening of music, memory, and meaning as we celebrate showroom manager Bob Baker’s lifelong love affair with music. This special installment of our Classic Concert Series will take you on a journey through Bob’s personal musical evolution — from childhood piano lessons with his grandmother and early training with the Sacred Heart nuns, to his adventures playing brass in school bands, jamming to rock in the ’70s, and exploring jazz, gospel, and original compositions in the decades since.
Bob will perform on piano, joined by longtime friends and talented musicians:
- Elise Cole on cello
- Wilson Luallen on upright bass
Together, they’ll share music and stories that reflect a deep and enduring connection to the piano — and the people and moments that shaped a lifetime of playing.
About the performers

Bob Baker is a true musical veteran with over 40 years in the piano world. Starting his journey as a jazz trombone soloist before transitioning to keyboards, Bob has performed with legends like Tommy Shaw and Dan Fogelberg, recording in renowned studios across the country, and today, he continues performing at venues like Lone Tree Arts Center and Dazzle Jazz.
His rich musical experience gives him unmatched insight into the art of pianos, making him one of the most trusted voices in Denver’s piano community.

Elise Cole is a versatile cellist who loves connecting with audiences in concert halls and unexpected spaces — from a rock-climbing gym to an impromptu performance on an airplane. Highlights include a live Shostakovich broadcast after winning the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp staff solo competition, a trio performance on WXXI’s Live from Hochstein, and appearances with the Boulder Symphony, where she is Assistant Principal Cellist. Elise is also a dedicated educator, teaching at El Sistema Colorado, a nonprofit supporting historically marginalized youth through music. She holds a B.M. from the Eastman School of Music and is completing her M.M. at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Wilson Luallen was given an electric bass for his twelfth birthday, and soon after began playing rock songs with friends. Eventually he also began playing upright bass, which he went on to study at the University of Denver. He has played professionally since 2015, working alongside many local jazz musicians and across other genres as well.
